Velma June Hungerford Almont

Velma June Hungerford Almont was born to Ramond and Helen Kitson Hungerford in Virginia City, Montana on September 23, 1940. Velma was raised by her uncle and aunt, Bill and Mary (Hungerford) Tichert.

She passed away March 25, 2022 at the Tobacco Root Mountain Care Center surrounded by loved ones.

She will be remembered for her sharp wit, strong opinions and determination, love of butterflies and spaghetti. Velma had a special bond with her brother, Francis Hungerford, who survives her. She will also be missed by several cousins and friends, who were enriched by her life.

At Velma’s request, in lieu of flowers, tell someone you love them.

Memorials in memory of Velma can be made to the Tobacco Root Care Center, where she was loved, valued and treated like family.

A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Chapel in Twin Bridges on Saturday April 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
