Ronda was born March 13, 1941 and returned home on November 3, 2023.
She was born in Butte, Montana fifteen minutes after her twin brother Ronald Oliver
Brown. Ronda was a true Celt. Her heritage was Irish (Davis) and Scot (Brown) family
– Lamont Clan. Ronda came from a Union Pacific Railroad family and grew up in the
Lima area. Her father was a conductor who regularly journeyed the Butte to Pocatello
route. Her mother ran the Merrell Hotel and raised a family of six children. Ronda
was the youngest child and the only girl, however she could hold her own and did not
tolerate much mischief from her older brothers.
Ronda married her German Professor from College, Erich “Max” Hugo Feurestack.
Max asked Ronda on a picnic at Point of Rocks, south of Dillon and proposed to her
there. They were married in the spring of 1962 at the Lutheran Church in Dillon. Max
was the Lutheran minister in Dillion for many years. Minister’s wife was only one of
her many titles. She was an artist, poet, a schoolteacher and worked for the county
road department for many years.
Ronda was a lifelong learner and had an impressive list of accomplishments. She
graduated from Lima High School and later Western Montana College with her
Bachelors in Elementary and Secondary Education. She spoke English, German and
French.
Ronda was very involved in her church and extended church family. She believed “A
cheerful heart is good medicine (proverbs 17:22)” and joined the Clowns for Christ
movement. No, that was not a typo! It’s a real thing. Ronda would have laughed out loud
at those of us who find clowns a little creepy. She would be best described as a pure
spirit, with a true appreciation for all things human – wonderful, unique, and
sometimes a little broken. She defined herself as spiritually aware, a good listener, and
kind. She also said “I have a knack for reading people. Except for the time I delivered
a cake to the county jail, with a file baked into it.”
Anyone who knew Ronda knew what a character she was. She had a fantastic sense of
humor, and her laughter was infectious. She was an excellent storyteller. She included
colorful details about the characters, performed each character’s voice, and had you
believing you were there. There was of course a funny punch line at the end that took
you completely by surprise.
Artistic talent came naturally to Ronda. Drawing and painting were the forms she
loved the most. She also enjoyed public speaking, acting, comedy and dance. She won
many awards for her art and public speaking. She was a lover of all things ice cream
and loved getting hopped up on diet coke. Good caffeine fixes often lead to bouts of
malarkey and shenanigans.
Ronda was the last living member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death
by her husband Erich Hugo Feuerstack, her parents Ronda Bartlett and Katherine
Fullerton Davis, her siblings James Davis, Richard Sam, Bartlett Ronda, Edward
Charles, and Ronald Oliver Brown. And of course, her beloved family of pets can’t be
left out! Tagoonia the family/childhood Australian shepherd, Gracious Peabody the
poodle, Guido the canary, and Snow White the guinea pig. Ronda did not have any
children of her own but was very close with her nieces, the daughters of her twin
brother, Jennifer Kathleen and Janene Kendal Brown.
We would like to thank Gayle Sandbourg for her steadfast friendship and care for
Ronda. Gayle was there when we could not be. Thank You!
