Passed while doing what he loved: spending time with whom he loved.
To sum dad up he lived, laughed, loved and hoped his children wouldn't drain his bank account!
Our dad would proudly announce that he was born at the old Deaconess Hospital that was not a hospital in that location in Great Falls anymore.
He also served in the Naval Reserves for many years.
Monte Smith was adopted by the Laurin family and passed away.
Our father was preceded in death by his wife Michelle of five years who was born Canadian who suffered from cancer.
He is survived by Katy his wife of 23 years and his children, the twins: Jonathan and Jeremiah, daughter Ruth (Mike Rock Stone) and grandkids Mariah, Rachel, and Jason Vickrey, Ethan (Caitlyn) grandkids Hartlee and Bentley.
My personal story(Ruth Rock Stone) :
Dad worked at a saw mill in Seeley Lake when I was an infant. Later on as an adult I still love the smell of sawdust because the scent of sawdust connects me with my dad.
Hymn for funeral is Amazing Grace.
