Larry Isom was born September 2, 1941 in Brawley, California. Passed away September 13, 2024 in his home in Clarkston, Montana. Parents, now passed away, were Addeline Edith Lee and Virgil Isom.
When young, Larry, his sister, Virginia and his parents moved often between California, Oregon and Washington.
Larry met his wife, Carolyn Crawford, picking strawberries out of Corvallis, Oregon in the late 50s. Larry and Carolyn married in 1961 in Corvallis, Oregon. Larry join the Marine Corps and serve for four years. When released from USMC they moved to the Eugene, Oregon area, where Robin, Geromie, Heather, and Rickayla were born. The family moved then to Laia, Hawaii for school, stayed one year, then moved back to the mainland.
Larry bought property in Clarkston, Montana and moved there in the spring of 1975. Nothing lived on this property, except cactus and ground squirrels. Larry was unabashed and jumped into action by pounding a sandpoint well, planted the vegetable garden, and before winter a rock house made snug and warm by a barrel stove. Larry was stalwart and brave, confronting each problem that appeared. They all worked together to build the house, the barns and the chicken coop.
In time, his family grew to six children, 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one lovely sister, all living!
