Larry F Grim passed away Wednesday May 26th at the age of 69 years in his home at Twin Bridges Montana, with family by his side, after a month long fight with cancer.
Larry was born November 14th, 1951 in Grand Island Nebraska, the son of Arnold and Elaine Grim (Lemburg). Larry grew up in Dannebrog, the Danish capital of Nebraska, where he played football and basketball for the Dannebrog Danes, then graduated high school from Centura High north of Cairo Nebraska in 1971.
Larry joined the Navy in 71 spending most of his 22 year carrier as a U.S. Navy Corpsman and X-ray technician, and continued his X-ray tech carrier outside the Navy for many public and private hospitals in the San Diego and Los Angeles California area. Larry spent time stationed on Diego Garcia as well as serving on several navy ships as Corpsman and X-ray Tech throughout his Navy carrier.
Larry married Donna Fillinger on February 18th 1972 at Dannebrog Ne. in his church home of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, and to the union was blessed with two children, Tracey and Lance Grim of the Salt Lake City Utah area.
Larry lived in and loved the San Diego California area his entire working carrier, then retiring to Twin Bridges Montana in 2012, where he could be seen irrigating and enjoying his small farm with his late life partner Vilma Landreth for many years. Larry and Vilma also snow birded to Arizona, where they would spend the winters playing cards and socializing with friends and neighbors.
Larry is survived by partner Vilma Landreth, children Tracey and Lance Grim and grandchildren Page, Brielle and Carma Grim, sisters Paula (David) Snider of Lincoln NE, Marry (Neil) Trentman of Dannebrog Ne, and Sherry (Tom) Moore of Grand Island Nebraska, as well as Kelly and Harry Grim of Twin Bridges Montana.
Larry was precided in death by his parents Arnold and Elaine Grim as well as sisters Jewell Grim and Shelly and Husband Steve Harders. Larry’s internment is at Twin Bridges Montana cemetery and given by Father Russel, of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of Butte and attended by the American Legion post of Twin Bridges MT.
