On Sunday, November 28, 2021, Kristen Karl Larsen, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully at the Tobacco Root Mountain Care Center, Sheridan, Montana at the age of 90. Kristen was born on August 25, 1931, in Aeroskobing, Denmark to Jorgen and Anna Larsen. He was the youngest of four children. He grew up on a farm and served in the Danish Army. He moved to the U.S. in May, 1954 to help run his Uncle Louie Hansen’s Ranch outside of Sheridan, Montana. Kristen gained U.S. citizenship in approximately 1958. On August 17, 1980 he married the love of his life, Teri Larsen and gained two children, Dana and Joe Forcella who were his world. Kristen loved every aspect of the ranching life. Kristen loved to do leather work, work cows on the ranch, and teach his kids about ranching, hunting, and all the fun things children love to do. He was a great ranch man and a true cowboy. After leaving the ranch, Kristen began his truck driving career, hauling cattle across the U.S. This passion continued until his retirement in 2008. He spent his retirement years enjoying his grandchildren, Bailey and Cole, who were the apples of his eye. Kristen was a kind, hardworking, and a gentle person who will be dearly missed. Kristen is survived by his wife of 40 years, Teri Larsen, daughter Dana Escott (Shane), son Joe Forcella (Lyn), grandchildren Bailey and Cole Escott, Calder (Kerri) Forcella and Dawson Forcella, Austin Cheff (Chelsea), great grandson Colt Cheff, and several nieces and nephews in Denmark. In lieu of contributions, memorials may be made to the Madison County Fairgrounds Improvement Foundation in Memory of Kristen Larsen, PO Box 664, Twin Bridges, MT 59754. There will be a small family memorial service at a later date.
