JOHN PATRICK HILL age 69, unexpectedly passed away surrounded by his loved ones on August 30, 2022. John was born to Robert Edwin Hill and Lorraine Charlotte Naipier in Bandon, OR. John grew up in Oregon and Northern California. He moved to Montana his senior year in High School. After graduation he joined the US Air Force and was stationed at Malmstrom AFB, where he was a computer specialist. Following his service John worked for a short time in lumber industry and then found his passion of mining. John worked for Cominco out of Garrison Montana for a number of years traveling back and forth from Silver Star everyday. After Cominco John ran numerous mines and then created his own mining consulting business where he did Mine Safety Training and consulted on the structure, equipping and opening of mines. Many years of logging and mining led to a wealth of knowledge that he continued using and sharing with many.
John’s immediate surviving family members are his adoring wife Cheryl Lynn (Carr) Hill, Father-in-law Roger James Schofield, brother Robert Hill, niece Wendy Hill and his children:Jacqueline Marie Hill and Balamurali Rajaraman and their children Anjeli Marie and Rishna Patrick Balamurali.Tawnya Marie (Irmen/Hill) Nicholls and James Edward Nicholls and their children Samantha Marie (Nicholls) Novich and Riley Dan Novich, and Anthony Joseph Nicholls.Jeremiah Patrick Hill and his children Tyler Austin Hill & Marissa Burnett and their children Juniper Rose and Jasper Brady Hill. Cody Patrick Hill, and Braiden M. Greco.Connie Lynn (Hill) Carter & Bret Michael Carter and their son Tyce Michael Carter.Jason John Hill and his daughter Grace Anne HillJolene Crystal (Hill) Banks & David A. Banks and their children Jasmine Rose, Lilly Mae, and David John (Johnny) Banks.Ashley & Dale Stewart and their children Hayliegh and Grace Stewart.Nathan & Mandalyn Child and their children Charlotte Marie and Ivory Helen Child.He also leaves behind his dear friends Michael Maloney and Ralph Buchholz both of Sheridan MT.
John was preceded in death by his father Robert Edwin Hill, mother Lorraine Charlotte (Napier) Hill Davis. Brothers Charlie Hill, Jack Hill and Harvey Davis, and best friend Charlene Hill.
John was an avid hunter, fisherman and mountain man to the core. John was a dream chaser, soul catcher, honest, hardworking, STRONG and forgiving man. John was the best fishing partner, teacher, mentor and an amazing dad and papa. He loved with his whole heart and was a defender of the weak. A best friend and a man of his word. He had a love of animals and this earth. One of his greatest honors was being able to take care of those he loved and who took care of us. He adored his mother and brothers.
John inspired those around him and was a friend and mentor to many. John will be missed by many and will be remembered by all.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
